I have just been given a model of a Mk2 Golf which im going to try and replicate to look like my old one which I sold in July. Im wondering if there any websites that do aftermarket parts for models, pref 1/24 scale. I would be after wheels more than anything, in particular Porsche Design 90's. Would I be best off looking for a Porsche 944 model and pinch them off that? Any help would be appreciated, my car is in my profile for reference.

There are plenty of aftermarket wheels in 1/24, although mostly Japanese ones it seems. Try hiroboy or ebay. Aoshima and Fujimi seem to produce most of them. Otherwise you might be able to find a cheap Porsche kit on ebay if you really want something specific (started models usually don't sell for much).

I needed a set of BBS's for the Tamiya MX-5. Did a search on eBay and found an Aoshima set that were a nearly perfect match. And when they arrived and I measured them they were exactly the right size. I think they're meant for slot racing but who cares as long as they look the part!
