Bloody jeans have ripped AGAIN!

Where on earth can I get a good pair of jeans from?

I've just had another pair rip on me. The last pair lasted about 3 months, this latest pair has ripped in just over 1 month! I'm a larger built sort of bloke (rugby player type large, not fat large) and the jeans I get always sit comfortably on my legs, the only place they aren't baggy is on my treetrunk-like thighs. This tends to be where they rip, too - near the zip, when I'm stretching my legs to get out of the car or tie a shoelace etc. But a bigger size wouldn't do the trick as I already have to wear a belt to keep them up and have to turn up the ankles twice to keep them out of puddles!

I don't buy cheapo Tescos style jeans, mine always tend to be £30-ish or more, but might have to swap to supermarket jeans if they keep ripping like this as it's just stupidly expensive. Are any other blokes here more stockily built and if so where the hell do you get your jeans/trousers from to make them fit properly? I'm running out of ideas and can't afford to keep buying more!

M&S do some decent jeans for £9.50. I've found them to be hardwearing, they don't rip easily (although mine are a bit too long and hence frayed at the bottom) and even if they do eventually rip, they're cheap to replace too.

my thighs are also on the large side and my jeans do get tight when i sit down, but dont quite rip. I understand your concern though as I tend to find now that most jeans are tight around the leg and i generally cant pull them up over my thighs when trying them on. but like you say a larger size is no good as I can actually pull them over my arse without the button/zip undone, its just the thigh area.

I have just purchased a pair from Kirt Muller, good fit and good price, also Industrial do good fitting jeans as do Billabong, but they are slightly more expensive.

I'm 6'4 with big old legs and found next to be one of the few places i can buy jeans. 38L are the only size that fit round my thighs but like you i need a belt to stop them falling off my arse.

Have been considering going to one of them tall folks shops but they only seem to stock styles my dad would be too cool to wear.

whitestuff do good fitting jeans - i cant seem to wear any designer ones / levi etc as they are all tight on the thigh. always rip on the knee though

Well I'm built chunky and don't like loose jeans. I've never ripped a pair yet! I still have a couple of pairs which are over 5 years old.
I normally buy cheap supermarket or Matalan ones for everyday knocking about or proper Levi's for 'smart' wear!
If you are buying one specific style change it! It's probable that the shape does not suit you (sir)!

Levis are hard wearing, but don't bother with the standard 501's, even with my chicken legs they're a bit tight round the thighs. I think there's a different 'model' that has wider legs.

I have the same Adonis-like figure as you, and also really struggle. Most brands only make jeans for Mr Average. However, I sometimes get lucky with Next. But, the best-fitting jeans I ever bought were Diesel from their shop in Manchester. They cost me £105 about two years ago, they fit perfectly, I wear them all the time, and they look as good as new.

is it at the seam or the denim itself? if the seam then buy jeans with a rivet at the crotch. these tend to be vintage cowboy styles by levi's/wrangler etc. if its the fabric itself then blame cheap denim or you might be buying thin soft denim - try thicker cloth. also try a button fly.

the only jeans i've had rip in that area were [i think] usc own brand. i have dropped on a batch of £90rrp wranglers with crotch rivets at matalan for £15 a go so bought a few pairs.

Similarly fat former rugby player physique, M&S jeans tend to last the longest and fit better, although have a couple of pairs of bespoke Levis that wear well

I usually buy Next or H&M Boot cut jeans that just about fit my thighs (rugby and hockey to blame) and I usually just put up with the fact I have to go to the next size up (36" waist) to get something that I can actually fit into and then a belt to keep them up.

Someone should open a shop that sells this stuff for the sport people that have issues wearing jeans of normal size.

I have big thighs (lapsed cyclist physique) and Uniqlo natural fit jeans are spot on for me. £25 a pair too.
