Car Cover?

I'm now in the position to make the Mk1 a weekend toy, however i don't have a garage so its stored outside.

Can anyone recomend a decent but not horrendously expenisve cover please?

I occasionally used a cheapy Halfords one, though it's more to keep the cat's paw-prints off than anything else. Nothing short of a Carcoon (http://www.carcoon.co.uk/) will keep the damp out entirely.

To my mind any cover is more likely to keep damp in than keep it out in the long term.

For frosty mornings we use a halfords car "cap" which covers all the windows.

How well does that fit, Munter? I've seen a few for Elises, but nothing specifically for MX5s.

It's a bit big. But it's not the small one. I had it originally for the Focus. So it flaps about a bit and covers a bit of the bonnet and boot.

If you care about your paint you might not be too keen on it rubbing across those areas in the wind.

I bought a Monsoon cover for mine from www.coveryourcar.co.uk last Christmas and it's been brilliant. Keeps dirt and crap off, moisture out. Doesn't scratch or flap about, works wonderfully. I think there's definitely a difference between a well made one and a cheapy one

After a lot of research, I went for the Stormforce cover from Coveryourcar - superb bit of kit - and I'm a mega fussy bugger!
