At the weekend my tie bar snapped, rear n/s,cars be MOT'd but they don't check to see if its all moving, only visual on the bush's to see if it's perished or not. So in that event the bush nearest the sill was solid therefore causing the tie bar to snap under pressure. Managed to join the two ends with a thin rod and two jubilee clips to hold it together until we found a garage that was opened [Sat afternoon]found one and asked him to weld them together to last till i got home [ £40 it cost, not bad] made that good a job we stay to do our run on sunday then went home.
So i would advise you to do a check before it happens to yourself.

Hi Jonny, must have been an interesting moment when that broke! Have heard of it happening before on the A frame Wedges so would be an item to keep on eye on in future......
Those of us with the old style trailing arms don't have this problem, just a bit of a wiggle from the back end when powering out of the corners! smile

Hi Jonny

Were you following Sandy when it happened, it would have been a slow speed happening hehe
You need to get some of Steve Heaths tie bars https://delta.securesslhost.net/~shenglt/catalog/i...
They will also give you more clearence on the inside of the rear tyres.
