Citroen started using it with that wierd-looking duallist. Over the weekend I'm sure I heard another advert using it (can't remember what). Tonight it's bloody British bloody Gas.

Why? Why would any ad agency think it's a nice-to-listen-to piece of music. I hate it. I turn over as soon I hear it.

DON'T USE IT STUPID AD AGENCIES

At the very least, consider that EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO USE IT. Isn't originality something you strive for?

I'll tell you what piece of music is overused in adverts. A song that really fking winds me up when I hear the opening bars of it.

I was about to post exactly the same. ranting

Any bets on whether the next series of The Apprentice will still use it?

I don't mind Ride of the Valkyries, having been in a helicopter playing it over the skyshout as it did some interesting low level manoeuvres. When ever I hear it I think back to that. spin

As Woody Allen once said, "Every time I listen to Wagner, I get the overwhelming urge to invade Poland" hehe

Or Rossini, "Wagner has some great moments. But awful quarter hours"

I do love the prelude to Act 1 of Lohengrin, though. And Isolde's Liebestodt. Both, however, a bit lengthy for an ad.......

Unless there is napalm involved it should not be allowed.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed the overuse of this music. Go To My PC is another offending advert that uses it, and I'm sure there's another.

You know what else I find annoying?

"She's pure as New York snow".... argh!! In some ways its worse, becaue you know what the next line is going to be. It's been used for donkeys years. Consign it to the bin, please!

Another bloody annoying been-around-forever song = The one Muller uses for that yogurt of theirs.

EDIT
Phones4U just started using RotV in their ads frown

You've just reminded me of (Jewish) Larry David hiring an orchestra to play Wagner to his Jewish neighbour.
hehe
