Diablo 6.0 or Murci?
Discussion
I was looking at pictures of the 6.0 and can't help thinking how good looking it is and it got me thinking. I don't really know much about it. What was it like to drive? I've heard people say it's a "proper Lamborghini" but wasn't it made by Audi? So does that mean it had German reliability?
Also, what's it like compared to the Gallardo? I've always found the Gallardo very easy to drive and recon it could be used every day, could the Diablo 6.0?
Anyway, which one would you choose, the Diablo 6.0 or the Murcielago and why?

The Murci roadster eliminates the quandry as 6.0s have a roof.
I know from experience that a friend with a 6.0 wanted to PX it for a murci soon after getting it.
I think the grass will always be greener either way. Fact is both cars will have advantages.
My thinking was that the reason you'd choose a 6.0 over an earlier diablo is the same reason you'd want a murci. So I got a murci instead.
A cheaper 2WD coupe diablo couple makes the perfect compliment to a Murci. So get both!
However it's the Murci I drive most. Hope that helps.

A little bit off topic but in another post about Diablo's there is a picture of my old SV and my Murcie. I had a real problem deciding which one to sell and
let the SV go and still have the Murcie.
I missed the SV a lot to start with but must say the Murcie has won me over. If the 6 is anything like the SV you might find the Murcie a good call. The SV was
influenced by the new owner but it did not detract from it being a real Lambo, as per the 6 litre, which is a lovely car.
No help then!

I quite like the look of this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1046002.htm colour is seen mostly on LP640 but i think it looks nice on this beast
I am biased but for me there is no comparison between a Diablo 6.0 and early Murci (of similar cost).
The 6.0 is the last of the line and therefore the best built of all the Diablos. It incorporated a raft of improvements considering how short a time frame it was built over - Audi's influence show's here. Changes included carbon fibre bodywork, revised interior with carbon fibre detail (nicer than the Murci IMO), improved engine management system, wider front track, improved climate control, revised exhaust, new wheels, etc. It is much rarer than the Murci and thus likely to hold it's value much better.
I agree the Diablo interior can feel a little cramped - largely due to the angle of the door glass leading to lack of headroom. Audi tried to address this by moving the seats towards the centre of the car.
The Murci no doubt incorporates improvements in handling and ease of use but the early cars suffered a few issues. For me only the later Murci LP640 and SV come close to the appeal of a 6.0.

What a great problem to have!
Personally, I would go for a 6.0L - as I think that these were the most resolved and cohesive of all Diablo's. You can see where the Audi R&D dollars went. The sense of occassion is awesome (which is true with all Lamborghini's, it has to be said). I used mine as a daily driver for nearly 2 years, racking up 18,000 miles with no issues.
Early Murcis are also great cars - but with a different character. I never took delivery of mine - but I'm sure there are many people here who can tell you just how good they are.
Either way - you'll be a very happy bunny!

A mate of mine had a Diablo and traded it for a Murci when it was released. He pined for the Diablo, sold the Murci and bought this 6.0 - the last RHD one made. He's happy to be back in a Diablo. He says it feels more like a Lambo.
This pic was taken on Sunday - the Countach is also his (the LP640 is mine).

I have to say that although Im not the biggest fan of Murcielagos, they just look a different car with the Roadster wheels, far far better than the LP640 or original earlier wheels. They change the car completely. This pic was taken on Sunday - the Countach is also his (the LP640 is mine).

Hi ya mate, hop along here. Yep Gary's a silly sod for letting the SV go. Just need to buy you some LP640 brakes for christmas let the SV go and still have the Murcie.

That's if Kerry hasn't spent all my money on the house
The 6.0 was refind by audi, still has the drive of a diablo just better. I did drive an 06 murci and was used to it in 5 minutes, easy gear shift and so on. if you like a drivers car then 6.0 is it. if you are a big girl like diablo pete then murci is the one. either way pete has a small manhood.
