I've just mapped the most powerful 4.2 ajp i've yet seen, but i'll leave clivef to spill the beans on the griffith forum smile that's after he's got his lardy arse out of that hotel bed and got himself down here for the rest of the work shout come on you lazy oik!! hehe

Genuine 4.2 or a later 4.5 block dressed up from the factory. Interested in the results either way ears

definately a 4.2, small journal crank etc, heres the graph, joo may improve on it once he`s finished with the mapping, but very happy with the results so faryes



joo imfrms me that at 4185cc its putting out 97.77bhp per litre.

I find it very intresting that all the high power AJP's seem to peak at less than 7000rpm. I allways thought the AJP was a high reving engine...

Awesome result.

Have followed the Griff thread with interest and have also talked with Joo
about the ins and outs of chasing numbers with the 4.2.

Clive are you willing to give us the spec on your engine? Also I presume theres
massive gains being made with the exhaust manifolding. Can anything be done
in the limited space in the Cerb engine bay? Has anyone dyno tested the new
version of the ACT manifold?

A lot of questions I know but winters coming time for planning the next step.

great job bow how come you didn't use a 4.5 as a base? was it just what was available at the time or is the 4.2 better suited to the griff?

hi shayne, yes rear wheel bearing shot to bits!!

I`ll answer peoples questions when I get home, I`m in a hotel on a wireless connection and it keeps going downrage so my last lengthy reply has just dissapearedhehe
