I need to install a new socket in my lounge. The new socket will go on a wall that backs onto a cupboard where the junction box is.

Can someone tell me how to run a cable from the junction box to make a new socket.

Any help is appreciated

Get an electrician to do it or someone competent.

If you have to ask on a car based internet forum, then maybe it's not a job for you.

You should take the socket from the ring main that supplies the other sockets in the same room, unless that is you require a dedicated spur.
