1999 Legacy GT. Any good?

A Legacy GT has taken my eye and wanted to know what they're like?

The one I might look at is a tiptronic and I really dislike Autos (although that could be the s**tbox corolla auto I have now), but it might be able to sway me if the tiptronic is good.

One thing that worries me is the Outlaws have a Vectra tiptronic and were told after gearbox problems not to use it and the box will be fine, any such things with the Subby one?

Great cars but I'd go for a manual every time - the auto box is ok but nothing amazing, and auto versions have a detuned motor at 260bhp vs 280 for the manual.

+1 for manual. The Legacy change is quite nice - fairly "snickety" and not too long-throw.
