Audi A6 Heating Issue

A strange thing happened this morning, it's done it a few times now.

I'll get hot air (really hot) out of the side & rear passenger vents & normal temperature air out of the middle vents, anyone know what could be causing this?

I seem to remember someone saying that it might be a hot water valve.

Anyone know?

If this is the current shape A6, I know there's a setting that allows you to change the temp of the air coming from the central vents - could be something to do with this. Press the "Setup" button in the climate control area (not the one in the MMI area) and you should see it on the screen.

Current A6, yes. I don't think I have that button, this isn't a problem all the time, all the vents are the same temperature all the time with the exception of a couple of days now.

I have 2 rotary dials for temperature, 1 for each side of the car.

you have to go into the MMI system and set it... its in there somewhere, lets you set the centre vents to a different temp to the others

Known fault with the sensor, happens on mine too but not got around to fixing it yet. I turn the dials up to max and back down when it happens and it temporarily cures it.
