prosecuted for what?

"Deliberately splashing people by driving through a big puddle could mean that the motorist was driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.
"

they were on the pavement not road users..

That road runs through a particularly chavvy area, so what's the problem?

surely this is what a s59 would cover? Cuasing alarm or distress to other people?

From page 4 of this thread there is also links to BBC News reiterating that the driver could face charges.

+1

What if it was someone on the way to an interview, or for that matter an old person!

I hope it ruins her life - but then again I don't suffer fools!!!

surely as PH'ers we can see that hitting standing water, at speed, in the rain, probably isn't the greatest of ideas?

Yes stupid idea - anything done to intentionally harm someone else for your fun is clearly not the right thing to do.

The fact that they had time to film it, think about it and still did it is clearly not right.

If anyone thinks this behaviour is acceptable ask yourself whether the fact that I might find hitting you with a hammer fun....

It's wrong and stupid and unfortunately a damming picture of modern life.

Completely stupid act, and shows the trouble you can get into by posting such footage to an account that can be traced back to you.

Other than that, would have been nice to do a drive by showing the wet kids... evil

Agreed, hitting that depth of standing water, which could be concealing a missing stank cover or similar, is pretty stupid and could have spun the car in to the pedestrians in a worst case scenario.

Being completely honest, I dont know whether thats a 40 or 30 limit but I would also have to say it looks to me like the limit is being broken in either case. She's fairly clipping along.

ETA: its only fair to point out I was huckled by the Police for doing something similar whilst doing deliveries for a takeaway. Some kids/chavs launched a buckfast bottle at my car from a bus stop next to a roundabout. On my way back, I got them all and got them good. Unfortunately a Panda car witnessed it and pulled me up back at the takeaway.

Lucky for me all I got was the warning that it was possible to prosecute for driving without due care and attention in such cases but since they had actually been en route to someone who had called to complain about said chav's behavior infront of their house, they'd let me off as they'd all buggered off home courtesy of me soaking them

But it didn't happen. There could have equally been a load of handicapped children crawling across the road over the brow of the hill and whilst they were looking in their mirrors, BAM!

It didn't happen.

Great video and I'd chip in £1 towards the fine smile

Dumb, dangerous, chavvy thing to do. Hope she gets whatever the maximum punishment is.
