Girlfriends 21st

I bought my g/f a diamond necklace for her 21st, and her dad bought her a gucci watch. Neither are especially flashy but both equally nice.
She's not really into jewelery either, but it comes out on special occasions when she has to dress up for balls, annual dinners etc. I think that makes it more special, seeing as it's her 21st you don't really want to just get her something that'll date and be out of fashion soon, get something relatively timeless.
So even though she's not into jewellery, buy her some.

In my defence It was 5 years ago!
For my 21st my parents offered me a choice between DJ gear to set up my own business, or a proper kilt outfit, with a decent skean dubh etc.
Of course, being 21 with no money I went for the DJ gear. Business lasted about a year, sold all the kit, and had nothing to show for it. Eventually bought myself the kilt at great expense, still kick myself for being so short sighted.
So moral of the story is: get something that will last. For my wife's 18th I got her a sterling silver Tiffany necklace, which she has worn almost every day since, still going strong. For her 21st I got her a nice (but not massively expensive, it has to be said) watch. She still wears it all the time. For her 25th I got her an engagement ring.
