I couldn't help but noticing while playing with the car configurator on the BMW website the other day (as you do!) that on many (Well all configs I happened to try) that runflats are now an option??
As much as I really do not like runflats, I see them as a necessary evil if there is no spare. Most new BMW's just don't have the space to carry a spare, so you are going to be stuffed, no?

All 1 Series and 3 Series models that come with 16-inch wheels as standard come with regular rubber. Upgrade them to 17-inch wheels (or bigger) and you automatically get run-flats.

You get a mobility kit - a tin of tyre sealant if your car has 16s, but I believe you can buy a space saver and a jack from BMW if you so desire.

Cheers

Yes, it was the 1 series I was looking at. I just recall that when they first came out, it was run flats whether you wanted them or not, regardless of model/wheel choice selected. Now theres some choice it seems.
I wasn't entirely sure if that was a new thing or not though..

Thanks for bringing me up to date smile
