Best German City for a Stag do??

I am looking into options for a stag do next year, and have heard from a few different people that Berlin is a good city for a lash, also Hamburg??

Has anyone been to either of these places? and if so, are they any good??

I have been to Prague, Bratislava and the Algarve already for stag do's,so these places are out of the question(Prague was great!) Someone also suggested Brno instead, which is an option..

Any help would be great

P.S. the title should say 'BEST' German City for a stag do!

why would you intentionally want to goto to germany,i lived there for 5 years and that was as a kid and id never want to go back!

I lived in Germany a few years ago, went out in Berlin, Bremerhaven, Celle, Hamburg, Hannover and Luneburg to name a few places.

Went over to Hamburg for a boys football trip earlier this year. Still a cracking night out. All were pretty good, but Hamburg's probably best.

If you're into your football take in an FC St Pauli match, their fans are quite possible the most crazy people in the world, friendly, but nuts! The Groninger bar is worth a visit, sublime own brew beer and plates of meat that you pay for by the weight, and the fish market Sunday am, more a flea market these days, it opens just as the clubs finish to you can carry on drinking at 7 in the morning.

Quality country.

i have only been to berlin. didn't think much of it as a city, makes birmingham look nice. but it was by far and away the best place i've ever been for bars and nightlife.

I went over to Dusseldorf to visit a mate last year and somehow got invited to a Stag Do in Maastricht, a short (double decker) train ride away.

I can't remember much, but a beautiful city full of beautiful people.

I've been to Germany for a lads' week end 3 years running.

Berlin - good weekend but not really stag do material. There is plenty of history - buildings are full of bullet holes. Head for Oranienburger Straße for hookers and titty bars. The Olympic stadium is worth seeing if there's a match on.

Frankfurt - good but again not really stag do tackle. Frankfurt is a popular financial centre and seems to be geared up for businessmen. Look for 'Eros Centres' for hookers - they are usually hotel type buildings without lifts. The better chicks are on the lower floors and cost more - swamp donkeys are higher up and cheaper. Watch out for Soho type "champagne for the lady?" bars where you will get ripped off.

Munich - Very good. Plenty of beer halls. The Englischer Garten is worth visiting during the day. There is a big Chinese pagoda with an oompa band playing on it and a bar and food counter where you can get a huge fk-me-off stein and some Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle). There is a good bar area where all the locals go on a night out. I can't remember the name but I'll try and find out.

I went to a mate's stag do in Munich. One of the smaller beer festivals was on (same place as the Oktoberfest, just smaller) and they apparently happen a few times a year. Had a good evening in one of the halls, ended up following some other people to the Kultfabrik which is in the old industrial bit of the city, 50+ small bars and clubs all in one place, only really gets going after midnight and we didn't leave till 6am, when it was all still in full swing. Next day we played crazy golf by the Olympic stadium - if you're wanting more active you can do tours around it and even over the roof. BMW museum was being refurbed when we were there but should be open again by now. The following night we did much the same, but trying some different spots at Kultfabrik.

Best of all - no hangovers thanks to the german beer purity laws.

It was a great weekend, been meaning to go back and see some of the sights.

Went to Berlin this year. Stayed in a hostel - all the single lads nailed dirty american hostel girls (hostelling is now the future as far as they're concerned)... there were stories about swapping and allsorts.

Went on an organised pub crawl. One stop was this place with sand outside, like a beach (rubbish actually) but then into some bar that looked like an absolute hole, only to find two mentalists drumming like mad with flames coming out of the ceiling. Dancing about with german goths... hmmm doesn't sound great but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next night round some nicer bars and then off to see strippers - i'm not fussed about strippers but quite funny to watch some of the lads normally full of chat go quiet & embarrased.

We went to a herta berlin match too, in a stadium pretty similar to the colluseum.

Altogether good weekend.

Berlin, Hamburg & Munich are all good cities for going out in. IMO Munich is best for general stag activities.
People are friendly, beer is OK price & tasty.

Munich sounds like a good bet, from what you guys are saying it sounds better than Berlin.

Maybe Hamburg or Munich..
