Is this high mileage Z4 a good buy?

The missus is still hankering after one.
I am very very wary of first year models. Please advise...
Can anyone tell me whether it has the CD multi changer and Heated Seats?

Well, I'm not sure how much advice I can offer but here goes...The missus is still hankering after one.

The Z4 is acknowledged as not being the best built of BMW's. It hasn't got that hewn from granite feel as, say, an E39 5 series. In saying that, I think it's a great little car, which you'd be unlucky to have many problems with.
As for the car in question; well, 75k is not a lot of mileage really. If serviced correctly the engine will take that very easily in its stride. The rest of the car may need the odd component here and there (suspension most likely) and, in my view, it is more important to ensure a roadster drives nice and tight / composed, than, say, a motorway barge.
I believe both heated seats and multichanger would have been options, so would assume absent if not in the ad'.
Overall, I wouldn't be discouraged from buying the car at the right price. I reckon if you can get that at nine and a bit you've got a good buy.
I've had my first year model for 16,000 miles now and the only issues with it have been the airbag light (due to a break in the wire that I still haven't got round to fixing - common on all cars), and the DISA valve (a common BMW problem somewhere between 40 and 80,000 miles) at £150 plus fitting.
As had been said, they do not feel as solid as a 5 series, but they are no worse than the equivalent boxster.
Great car for the money. Make a nice sound when you remove the sound resonator foam.
Having said that, I'm getting itchy feet (I've never kept a daily driver for more than 15,000 miles!) and could be dragged out of my 2 owner 78k miler for a sensible sum of money.

A very basic spec car with extremely high mileage. Worth about £7,500 IMHO. If you want to know what it's fitted with, why don't you make the effort to telephone the seller? When I sell my cars I pray that pratts like you don't bother to call. Unfortunately you do, with stupid questions like "What is the cheapest price you will take" - before inspecting the car....The missus is still hankering after one.

You seem to be one of those idiots. Do your research pal & decide what you can (or cannot in your case) afford before bothering decent people.
How dare anyone ask perfectly reasonable questions about BMWs in the BMW section of a motoring forum

Lighten up and stop being so judgemental.

t.That car should be fine.
Check my profile cars for a similar kinda mileage one to you and costs I've had so far.
108 5 spoke wheels corrode on the outer polished rim, yuck, but mileage independent.
Rear springs break, but that seems irrespective of mileage too.
My DISA was noisy too, so replaced, seems to be 5yrs/60k miles, and is £100 to replace.
Make sure it has all three keys (two big ones, and a small spare plastic thingy)
Check inside edge of front tyres for wear. Check tyre pressures irrespective of RFT sensors... they can run flat and look fine for a long time, and a tell tale is worn inner edges (really badly)
Check same for rear tyres too. Expensive tyres if you are on 18" rft.
All said and done, mine is on 69k, I bought it on 60k, so I've put on about a 6th of all it's current mileage, and in that time it just continues to feel solid and bullet proof.
Just make sure it's had oil every year or so and 15k miles or so, and you should be fine
If you can get one that has had INSP2 at BMW, then all servicing for the next 30k should be pretty cheap all said and done as most stuff that needed doing around 60k will have been done.

Why are you trying to sell us a 52 plate Z3 in a thread about Z4's?motoway miles only...(is this the rite place to say this) lol...pics avaliable on requset
Do you also expect us to beleive that a small sports car thats 7 years old has accumulated its mostly average mileage entirely on a Motorway?
I've noticed this bulls
ttingbull character has quite the attitude.
I wonder how he manages in real life.
On the z4 note, I would aim for a high spec one from a private owner. FBMWSH is a must imo, check out which tyres are on there to. Stuff like that will indicate whether it's a good buy or not.

Just as a general observation on Z4's, go on condition.
My workmate bought a Z4 that turned out to be clocked, which he later returned. It said about 65k on the odometer, but the year before MOT cert had 78k on it, so it was probably well into it's 80-90k when he had it.
It was a tad tatty in areas (mainly where it had been tampered with, ie, cabon effect door handle pull covers), but overall it was nice, drove well, etc etc.
He got a refund and got a 24k mile one a few weeks later, and all said and done he couldn't really tell any difference in the way it rode/drove.
As long as you have driven a good one to know what is normal, and if a high mileage one drives as well and is otherwise in good nick etc, then the mileage is irrelevant.
I just see a good high miler as a cheaper to own car. If you won't do many miles, maybe a low mileage one might be cheaper in depreciation, but if you will do 12k a year then you may as well put them on a high miler that is cheaper and costs less in depreciation too!
Early models (03) did have a few issues, but by now as others have said, they should have been resolved...
