What are your guys thoughts on these and does anyone have one fitted to a Mk1?

Nice idea, I wonder why TVR didn't continue with this idea after the Cerbera. Its not as if it gave much trouble in the Cerb.

It would be quite easy to do, but where would you put the buttons?

Unfortunately not in my Mk2 Convert.

would be nice but with what use ?
you'll still have to push the centre nob in your key first (to disarm the alarm)
so to start the car:
disarm the alarm to open the car
push the button to open the door (sometimes twice)
slide in the car and put the key in the steering wheel lock
turn the key and push the centre button
push the startbutton

that's about 4 handlings too many already
i'm going to train my wife to do the first 4

If that's what it's doing then you need to do a reset process to stop it. I had this with mine and was advised via the guy that designed the system that it happens after a low battery incident and requires a reset.

Anyone help me here?
On my 2002 car, the ignition key centre button oes not disarm the system I have to insert the key ring alarm module black piece of plastic thing into the slot to the left of the dash binnacle to get the red light to go out, then put the ignition key into the ignition to allow the car to start, am I doing something wrong or isthere someting I need to rest.
I have stripped the keys, cleaned the boards with contact cleaner and renewed the batteries so don't think it is the key itself, but then stranger things have happened to TVR electrics.................!

I have recently suffered that problem with my key fobs, the original ones are cr*p. I contacted Carl Baker who is a wiz with TVR car alarms etc who supplied and fitted new fobs to my existing keys and re-programmed the alarm to suit. Much better quality and range but they don't have the TVR logo on them.

My tuscan mk1 has a push button starter fitted. Cant help with who or wher it came from as the previous owner had it fitted. its fitted in place of the lower air vent along with a push button in the opposite vent to turn on the speed camera detector. looks fantastic and works but you do still have to insert the key and push the key for the immobiliser. You can view this by going up to the members bar- click directory- and in the search box type S7USK this will bring up the previous owners pictures and if you view the full album you will find photos of before the buttons and new steering wheel was fitted and after. Theres probably an easier way to get these up but dont no how.

Its not difficult to do electronically, and there would be no need to have to insert the key.

Apart from releasing the steering lock, which could be disabled.

It'd work like in the Cerbera - press the fob to un-immobilise, press and hold start button to start.

But I don't like the idea of losing the lower vents; I'd be more inclined to fit the start/stop button in place of the keyhole!

i personally find it something for kitcars and children with GTI,GSI and so forth
if you want to go that way
why not use one of those knobs fitted on some steering wheels

I'm picking up my first Tuscan over the weekend (Mk1 chameleon green), asked to have a start button installed, it's going to be fitted where the rotating ashtray sits..cost £2oo+ parts and labour - worth it I think, just for the look!
