Floor off, what to do

Right, the floor is coming off to get it sealed properly and check the frame out etc etc.

What jobs should I plan on doing whilst it is off.

Remove gravel

and maybe wax-oil inside of frame.

Thats my next plan, drove through torrential rain on sunday and ended up with a pond down by my drivers seat lol

im prob going to sound stupid now but whats wax oiling. as my floor will also be off this winter as mines has a puddle and keep getting me feet wet. lol

Wax oyl is just a waxy oil that sticks to metal and stops the surface from oxidising/rusting.

Is it the underpan for the cockpit, front or rear? Different jobs depending.

If its the cockpit, then it can be quite a clean up and reseal job.

If its the front then empty out a kg of loose gravel and blow out the radiator.

If its the rear then the list is long,just check everything and fix what is loose or broken.

Only waxoyl the rear underpan, the other two need silicone sealant and lashings of it, which ever underpan you take off, make sure to replace the old screws/rivets with S/S self tappers.

Play it by ear, not sure if you have had them off before, if its the 1st time taking off the rear there could be a lot of rust damage to treat local to the screw holes, take some pics let us know how you get on.
Mainly tightening heatshields, checking engine stabilizer bar, making sure exhaust has not come loose from turbos, if you have the standard exhaust there are no flexi joints and they shake loose and almost always break the mounting brackets etc.. too long to list all the fixes/checks.
I added anti vibration pads to heat shields etc.. but it depends on how far you want to go.

All hoses to silicone.make sure you can get a full length of the 10mm in a 4mtr length as its not a stock item .sfs take around 2weeks to make .plus every jubilee clip you can find

+1, i'm glad you brought this up Arty, i changed all mine on 4-5 years old, the hoses were starting to drip at the joints and the system was losing pressure.
All the old hoses had lost their properties and were brittle, everytime i tried to reconnect, the jubilee clip would just cut back through them, so i pulled one off and bent it and it just split, so decided they were end of life and changed/upgraded them all, mine was a late 2004 model, so i guess most Nobles must have this problem inherent. Pressurize the system and leaks should spring up everywhere, proving Arty's point, they really need replacing/upgrading.
