Mercedes S class dashboard cluster light

Can anybody help me?

Yesterday my dashboard on my S Class went into darkness. My local specialist replaced a blown fuse which has partly helped but I have been informed that I will still need a cluster light for all my dials to be visible and this will cost over £850.00 plus labour and vat. I can not see any numerical figures anymore on the speedo, the fuel level etc.I am very unhappy that this has happened and even more so at the expense. The garage tell me this is quite common with the S Class. Does anybody have any links to cheaper cluster light suppliers or other ways to fix this problem? Many thanks for any help.
