I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later..............

I see that S/S Daytonas are now trading for less than retail on the second hand market http://www.watches.co.uk/watch.php?wid=8463S it is a '04 but is still in 10/10. Either a sign of the times or the rapid increase in retail.

That was the first thought I had at the last increase in February.Until then buyers were always able to wear a steel Daytona and sell it used at a profit. That's finished now, still it wasn't a bad run for 20 years or so.....Stuart said:
What's UK RRP? A black face SS is still commanding an over list premium, is it not?
I agree though - a combination of reduced demand and a weak pound was bound to hit UK values eventually.
I'm pretty sure it's about £6220? Saying that they must have paid quite a bit less for them to re-sell at £5995.I agree though - a combination of reduced demand and a weak pound was bound to hit UK values eventually.
How much would a zenith SS Daytona with white face be worth?
Toying with selling mine.
ETA : Why should a weak pound affect the price? I bought my SS Daytona from France. If the UK with its weak pound was targeted for "cheap" watches - then supply and demand would rebalance. Unless suggesting that the market is saturated?
