It's time for Boris to go!

He is right to put up Tube and Bus fares (why should they be subsidised by motorists?), but the C Charge should be scrapped altogether, not increased.

How about this as a manifesto for London?:

Sack all traffic wardens. We don't want them and we don't need them.
Get rid of all Bus Lanes - undoubtedly the main cause congestion and pollution in London Prevent bus-stops being placed next to traffic islands (which prevents other drivers getting past) Bring back bus conductors so fares can be collected on the move without causing huge traffic jams.
Drivers should be able to turn left on a red light if the road is clear Ban bicycles on public highways - another cause of congestion. Only people who pay road tax should be allowed to drive on the roads.
Make it illegal for councils to put humps in the road. We pay our taxes for the roads to be kept flat and smooth - not turned into an obstacle course.
20 mph zones should be a minimum speed, not a maximum.
30 mph speed limits on main roads should increase to 50 mph between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am Ban councils from 'resident permit holder only' areas next to tube stations. If people are to be persuaded to use the tube, they need to be able to park near the station.
Abolish parking meters / pay and display in residential areas All day parking should be allowed (not maximum 2 hours).
If roads need to be dug up, contractors should be made to work around the clock with sufficient workmen until the repairs are complete. There should be heavy penalties for going over-schedule.

Scrap the office of Mayor and London Assembly Cancel the London Olympics er...
that's it

I have had 5 fines last week for being in bus lanes after 8:30pm
all i needed to is turn fxxxxxg left and it cost me £300.
The arrow on the road says left so i go left its dark and raining
so you dont see the red road for a bus lane. And all the traffic
in front is going right. So how the hell am i ment to no what to do.

Tiler I know exactly what you mean, I was driving back from the o2 a few years back, middle of december and the road markings were not at all visible. I was stressed, it was dark and really poor visiblity just due to all the head lights coming onwards and there being a film of water reflecting all light thus wiping out road markings. I fell foul of the bus lane but fortunately got no fine
