Scrap gold weigh in ....

I`ve got a few grams of scrap gold & wonder if anyone on here has tried the companies currently advertising on the telly & could personally recommend one?

They'll more than likely just rip you off. Once they've got your gold, you're not in a strong position to start haggling.

I saw one of these adverts, and rushed to Mrs Philthy to round up all the "spare" gold we have cluttering the place up

I suppose they will do quite well, as your local high street jeweller isn't likely to fence any "spare" gold?

You're entitled to ask for it back if you dont like the price they give you..

My Dad collected up a bunch of old broken chains, a chavvy sov' ring he wore in the 60's and some other cack he's collected over the years (I'm sure there was a disco medallion in there but he never fessed up to it!), took it to a local guy that dropped leaflets through doors. Got a few hundred quid which was probably nowhere near the "real" value of it, but what the hell else is the man in the street supposed to do with "scrap" gold.

Finding a local dealer might be a better idea, a lot easier to walk away if you dont like what they have to say..

A friend of a friend sent there gold to one of those companies advertising on tv and got offered £80.they asked for it back and took it to their local high street jeweller where they were offered £400
