Getting a Competition Licence, with a Medical Issue?

Does anyone here hold a MSA Race Licence and have a heart condition?

I have held a competition licence in the past, Over the years, I've done a bit Karting, Autotests, Hillclimbs and Sprints.

I now have a son, who loves motorsport like me, and isn't that far away from the age where he could start Karting.

He was born with a couple of serious heart conditions, and has undergone several major heart operations over the years. He is now fit and well, although on medication. Reading the MSA website last night I think they take each application individually, but it looks like he may not be granted a race licence, I am gutted!!
Does anyone on here know anyone young or old that has a race licence?

I know I would probably be better to just apply, but thats still a little bit off, and reading the MSA site last night was a huge dissapointment for me.

I know someone very well who has a licence for sprints and hillclimbs having had a couple of heart bypass operations, not sure about circuit racing however. Gerry Marsh had a circuit licence however, and he had had some work done!

You can write to them first before applying asking for an indication if you will be granted a license, they replied quickly with me.

Write to them explaining the situation and see before applying, they just may put restrictions and require maybe extra in depth medicals etc.
