Just how important is that 'spark' for you in a relationship?

By spark, I mean that feeling that makes you feel like you could achieve anything in world.

For me it's very important, but I just wondered if everyone feels the same, or is it just a symptom of being a 35 year old soppy, cat loving female? (added before someone else adds it tongue out )

So... you've met someone on the internet who's 'nice', immensely solvent, drives a Lambo but doesn't rev your engine? Are you asking us if it can work?!

To be honest love, you're not getting any younger, I'd be taking whatever I could get at your age.

Is this you?

Is he rich and drives nice cars?

Is he crap at drinking from the furry cup?

Have you given it a chance yet?

Is he off the internet?

....................

If you can answer yes to all the above... he is not the man for you.

Hence you will become crazy cat lady...

As soon as I saw the thread title I knew it was you! biggrin
Yes, it doesn't work without the spark. The difficult thing is achieving the "double spark", if only one person has "it" the relationship is not going to be successful!

IMHO

For almost every women "the spark" is important but to any man (they would be lying if they said any different) so long as they get laid once in a while, thats all that matters! biggrin

"Spark" ?

You mean the infatuation stage.

It passes.

It isn't important at all.

What matters is a deep and abiding friendship. My other half is the person I want to spend the most time with in the whole world because she's the best company I have found. This is still true after fourteen years of marriage.

A slight different question.. Do you think you can 'make' a spark?

Or does it just happen and you have no say over it..

Accomplish anything?

That's euphoria. Part of the infatuation stage. IT ALWAYS PASSES. AND it's misleading. You're only as good as you were when you met rationally speaking.

But it's nice when the OH provides encouragement and comfort but they don't improve your skills: only you do that.

I know it passes, and is replaced by other feelings....but still for me it is important.
