Hi all,
I am thinking about going to the Flame & Thunder at Santa pod and would like a bit of general information i.e
Times (start and finish)?
Is it good racing, good classes?
Much to do?
Worth getting a grandstand?
And has anyone got any pics/videos from previous years?

cold, very cold! but if the wet stuff stays away its a great day

no classes or racing as such, just booked demo cars covering a range of classes
various jet cars, wheelie cars and other show cars

loads of other things going on around the site as usual, massive firewors display and bonfire

I for one will never forget that run, was the best thing that happened all season and to see the car go from A to B in the conditions that there were that day was amazing...Oh I also remember the chutes not working and pushing the car out the field at the other end.... happy days eh !!

It was an extraordinary race and what an extraordinary run. Even though it was before that famous run, you couldn't wipe that smile off Darren's face!

Bullying me again... ahem! I have been remiss this year - and with good reason.

Something will happen soon; I'll try and make up for it as and when time allows.

Cheers,

Richard

If you look on www.santapod.com it gives details of everything thats on during the day and nightand yes the track action will be demos , jets race cars and bikes who will as usual try to put on a good show but can be hampered by the fact it will be November . If your looking for a good day out with something for everyone then its an excellent day out even if the weather is not so good there is still lots going on.

I may be wrong but i believe Andys 4.89 / 302 is the fastest and quickest pass at the Flame and Thunder ?

I went last year and it was freezing, it was so cold none of the big fuel cars did proper runs, there are lots of jet and wheelstanding demos but to be honest most of these are not that great if you have seen them before. The fastest car there was the Firestorm jet funny car which is impressive but runs at most events through the year. I was going to get a grandstand seat but the que was miles long and moving at the speed of a snail on valium so I did not bother in the end. There was a good crowd there and it's a last chance to hear a TF engine for a few months but I don't think I will go this year unless it's a unseasonably warm spell. Mind you I live a couple of hours drive away, if I was nearer I'd be more likely to chance it !

I should be going along all being well

Weather can be decidedly dodgy, but this is britain rofl

It's cold...I mean EFFING COLD

The parking can be a muddy, boggy nightmare situation-----good fun!

The event itself is corking and I for one am looking forward to going back biggrin
