Petrol vapour fumes

Started getting a strong petrol vapour smell in the boot and (less strong) in the car.
I've tightened the 10 or so bolts around the intake pipe and fuel pipe/sender flanges and I've taken the valve thingy out to sniff from the passenger side rear wing.
What else can I do to trace this?
Is it likely to be a split pipe running through the underneath of the car from the pump?
It doesn't get worse with the engine running and pump on so I presume it's pre-pump.
Also, no obvious fuel on the garage floor after standing for several days.

When I had this (was worse after I filled up but suddenly got really bad at any time) I had it trailered to RVT and they replaced the fuel pipes from pump on (may even have done em all as a precaution).
It was certainly bad enough for me to think twice about driving it over and the nice AA man loaded it onto his trailer

Same thing on friends T350 - check the send/receive fuel pipes that come from the top of the fuel tank - one was split - replaced tubing and fitted new clips. The tubing goes to the fuel lines in the chassis. To access fuel lines remove carpet in rear and remove fibreglass 'hatch' It is screwed down and Sikoflex'd for good measure!
Easier in a Tam as there is a carpeted former velcroed over the tank.
Smell has all but gone now - typical TVR!
I've noticed that the tank is pressurised again when I undo the petrol cap.
I think I get the smell when there is no pressure in the tank so maybe the venting valve thing is intermittently opening.
I'll keep an eye on it and move the fire extinguisher into the car from the boot!
