Is there any way to boost the signal coming out the RF2 of the back of a Sky HD box without rendering the magic eye inoperable?

I take it there's some sort of power running through RF2 to allow the magic eye to work because when I fit a signal booster (between the box and the magic eye) the eye goes dead, when I remove it it works again.

Help would be appreciated as the signal to this tv is pretty poor.

My signal was poor at first, I had to set the output to different frequencies and retune the tv each time until I found a 'clean' signal. My lead runs about 30m and there's not much loss in quality. If you haven't tried this it's worth a go.
