I'm thinking about buying one, and i was wondering with it been such a new model, has anybody who owns/owned one had any problems? And how bulletproof is that engine? I'm coming from a TVR Tuscan, has anybody else made this move and what are your thoughts?

Thanks

Hi There
I had a 2000 450 Chimaera and have just picked up a new 30i and love it. Nice to drive something that feels solid, as for the engine haven't heard any bad reports and to be honest don't expect to. Absolutely no regrets making the move, after the initial layout on the Z4 in comparison to TVR ownership it's a lot cheaper, great aftersales and most importantly a cracking drive as for the roof, well, what a luxury!! Especially after the fights I used to have with the Chim!!
Haven't driven the 35i little bit out of my price range and wanted new so went for the 30i, as I said before no regrets what so ever!!

Hi,
I have just got a 35i with DCT, M adaptive etc etc. I had a 2005 T350T for 2 years and a 450 Chim for 3 years before that. I fancied a change and tried the Sag but it wasn't that different from the T350 and then I saw the new Z4 at Goodwood and popped into the local dealer to have a look. You realy need to test drive one to see and feel the difference. I am a big TVR fan and will have one again but this car is great.

I had a Cerbera and my mother in law has just got a 35i DCT. There was a choice of three cars, Z4 SLK and Boxter. I was really given the responsibility of deciding which car she got. I drove the SLK, dull as you like, then next was the Z4. All I can say is its awesome. The car feels so good, the engine is to die for, the gearbox if wonderful and the dealer we went to, Elms, were great too.

She has had the car a couple of weeks now, no problems at all. She has only used it on fully auto, not really used the DCT yet.

Drive one, see if it suits you. I love TVRs but the BMW is another league.

BTW I didn’t even bother driving the Boxter.
