Dark Mini Cooper Police car?

Saw only from the back a Mini Cooper tight up the rear of a transit, hear the sirens, and saw the alternative headlamp flashing...all on the A12 about Witham way..

Tell me the old boys in blue haven't ventured into the Mini market surely??
