Watermarking photographs

Couple of questions, how do you do it? Can it be done by batches and what would you recommend (as some watermarks actually spoil the visual appearance of a photograph and do put me off looking through galleries).

I'd recommend small and subtle watermarking. I do mine with an action in photoshop so it's relatively automated.

I hate massive watermarks.
