Ebay strangeness

So I listed my reliable shed on ebay today at about 12. 1230 and someones hit the buy it now, I get a phone call off them to check the address and then they rock up at 5, take a glance at the car and hand over a crisp bunch of notes in exchange for the keys to said mode of conveyance.

Sounds ideal, reckon you must have hit a seam of normal intelligent human beings,in amongst the many layers of moronic strata that apparently make up the river bed of e bay. We tried to sell a car recently and after 2 so called buyers mucked us about for over 4 weeks in total we sold the car via Piston Heads classifieds within a week of the ad going live.
I tend to make my adverts very clear in what I am expecting with plenty of disclaimers. If you advert is worded right, then there should be little come back. I also add that I will kick people with less than 10 positive feedback, and when selling a car make it understood that they are bidding to buy and not kick tyres etc.
Word the advert right first time and get the right people invlolved. Word it badly and attract the wrong sort of buyer.

I had the same sort of experience, ok not quite as quick as yours though. Buyer wins the auction, arrives the next week, looks at the car, hands over an envelope full of notes and drives off. All before 9am leaving me with the thought going round in my head of "I'm sure it was meant to be more difficult than that" This is not what I have come to expect from ebay! what is the world coming to...
I've sold 3 cars on eBay. Always got decent amount for them.
Volvo S80 - I delivered myself (at cost). The guy didn't even come out of his house to see it was outside! Gave me cash, took the keys and papers, the end!
Volvo S60 - Guy got train to Glasgow from England with his wife and two young kids, handed over cash and drove away in car that he'd never even sat in before, for a 2 week holiday up North! Thing is - when I was handing over the paperwork I realised I'd left the MOT certificate at my parents house. He trusted me to mail it to him, with no proof the car was MOT'd!
Volvo S40 - Agreed price before the auction was over, he came over same day, handed over cash and drove away. I cancelled the auction.
These people (especially S60 man!) are very lucky I'm honest
Volvo S80 - I delivered myself (at cost). The guy didn't even come out of his house to see it was outside! Gave me cash, took the keys and papers, the end!

ive had all sorts too
1 guy agreed the sale over the phone, transfered the money to me and arranged to pick up the next day this got cancelled and went on and on for a week until he eventually come to collect it at the time of paying he didnt have my address and i could have just had a pay as you go phone and cucked it away.
next guy transfered £25,000 for my old rs6 and arranged to meet at a airport he was flying inn and driving it back
thats 2 people who could quite easily have lost a lot of money, some people trust others too much

I have learned my lesson. No more Volvos ever. Never ever again. Nope. Absolutely no more cars that will bankrupt me daily. Not gonna happen.Hmmm how much is the S60R these days...
