I have an LS2 and a close family friend offered to mill my heads at his work since he has had a lot fo spare time recently.
Now i know that i will have to get new head gasketsm and plan on getting ones that are .030 inches thick.

With those gaskets how much can i mill my heads and still have some PTV clearance? (serached EVERYWHERE but alas no results)

On a side note will i need to be retuned to make the most of this as well? (I'm guessing yes but want to confirm)

Is there any reason for doing this ??

And obviously PTV clearance will depend a lot more on whatever cam/valvetrain you have, than the amount you could ever mill off the head surface before destroying something.

Increase in compresion. With a correct tune can be a way of releasing a bit more power.

LS2 already has 11:1 so more compression needs careful consideration and tuning. I doubt there is much point.. Now on an LS1 yeah maybe.

remember to re do the valve train geometry as the push rod might need to be shorter,
