Here is a round up with some pictures of the road trip my uncle and I recently got back from.
Day 1
Nice (France) to Bologna (Italy) via the Col de Turini.
The hire car, a 2.0 tdi VW Passat estate which never missed a beat! Although it had a stupid handbrake!

Then up to the Col de Turini

We ended the day in Bologne

An interesting statue in the centre of the piazza, an inspiration for a certain manufacturer...

Day 2
Imola, Modena and Maranello
We drove down to Imola to find the Statue dedicated to Senna

The statue was very moving. Well worth a trip!

We then drove up to see the Lamborghini, Pagani and Ferrari factories.
Pagani, is normally closed to the public and is a very normal building in a very normal industrial estate....however, what inside is far from normal! We were allowed in for 5 minutes...

Ferrari, so Pagani let me into the showroom and I sat in a Zonda F...Lamborghini as you’ll see were amazing. Ferrari wouldn’t even let me (although I did) take a picture of the front gate!! So up their selves it was scary!!

Lamborghini, the museum was brilliant! I even asked if they could start up a car so I could hear it revving, and they only started up a million pound Reventon!!

This is a fully working Murcialago bolted to the wall!

Blobs of petrol after the Reventon was revved hard!!

Day 3
Bologna to Davos

I drove up the Stevlio pass. Had a really good run, was mostly dry and only passed two cars driving at a pedestrian pace!

Day 4
Davos to Soll (Austria)
My Uncle drove from Davos to the Stelvio. He had an even better run up to the Stelvio along the Bulmio pass.

Day 5
Soll to Milan.

Day 6
Milan to Turin via Monza.

The track day had not only F430s and a Gallardo (500 euros for 2 laps!) but Damon Hills old F1 car!

Day 7
Turin, Mont Blanc and The Italian Job

This is the exact spot where the bus was teetering over the edge.

Day 8
Turin to Millau
We decided to search for the locations in Turin that were used for the film...
The Galleria where the mini’s and police bikes skidded on the freshly waxed floor...

The Galleria where the mini’s drove down the far stairs and around the central flower bed...

The wier...

The church...

The view back over the bridge where Beckerman was talking to the camera...

The Millau Bridge. Not impressive to drive over, but very impressive to look at!

Day 9
Millau to Nice via the Gorge du Verdun

The Gorge du Verdun was definitely the most challenging road I have ever driven!

Day 10
Nice and Monaco
A second hand car dealership on the way in to Monaco......a few cheap cars dotted about.

We drove the F1 circuit, was really weird to be on the track.

This was the front of the Passat at the end of the 10 days, with a few hundred bugs attached

And a few thousand kilometres on the clock....4236.6!

Fin.
