guys,

When im turning my wheel the steering feels notchy, like it gets stiff and loose again.

PS fluid levels are all ok, and no noises from pump etc.

Where should i start, replace pump or rack, or any other suggestions?

Cheerio.

My advice would be to avoid a company based on the meridian if you ever want your rack to work again.

Try looking at the small belts down by the alternator. The one that is harder to get to is I think (correct me if I am wrong) is the power steering pump belt. It is quite exposed and when my steering went like that there was a stone caught in it which had pushed through the belt and left a hole with a raggy bit.

Check and grease the universal joints on the steering column in the wheel arch, the road crap gets to them and they can cease up a bit.

Interesting info, my mechanic noticed a small hole in my ps belt, and it looked like there was something bedded into it, its on my 'to do' list.

I get this sorted to see if it fixes the problem.

Cheers!
