Picked up Top Gun on Blue Ray for about £5 from play on special offer.....for a 23 year old film it was incredible - both visual and audio, felt like it was shot yesterday.

Anyway...for any Top Gun fans there was a MONSTER making of on the special extras...over 2hrs worth with Scott, Bruckheimer, the writers, loads of cast - very interesting if you're fan and lots of chats with the tech adviser for the geeks.

Probably the best "making of" i've seen and the same people do the commentary track as well.....loads of stuff to look out for in the film - the bit of plane that falls off when maveric hits the brakes, the fact that the guys playing volley ball ARENT the actors....Toms crazy cowboy boots to get him close to Kelly (who only got the part because Scott saw her tits in Witness!)

Fans only i expect...but very good.

23 year old film?

Shows that quality stands the test of time.

Incredibly visuals, some awesome action scenes. I was wondering if there were any films that truly justified the bluray experience, and I'm starting to think that this is the one.

Let's face it, you bought it for the volleyball game, right?

Tony Scott on the Volleyball..."i didnt know what the hell i was supposed to do with this scene...so i just covered them in oil and shot the st out of it"

Visually it's superb....especially when you realise stuff like the flat spin was a bloke spinning a 4ft model on a wire. Also interesting to see the guy that did the tower fly by....now a chubby airline pilot! Scott asked him to go past at Mach 2.....he said "errr, no...dont worry...it will look fast though"
