Predictions for the future (technology etc)

We're nearly a decade into the 21st century now and I for one am a bit dissapointed that we don't have flying cars, robot servants or a miniature nuclear reactor in every home.
So, 20th century predictions turned out to be a tiny bit optimistic, but what do you think we'll see in the next, say, 50 years? Will there be any big 'sci fi' steps, do you think, or will it just be a gradual evolution of technology as we see it today? What would you like to see, and what do you realistically expect to see?

Maybe I read too many comics in the '70s (yes 2000AD, I'm looking at you) but I too am disappointed at the lack of technological advancement what we'd been promised.
About now, according to "them", we should all be wearing silver cat-suits, eating meals in pill form and gliding around on hover-boards.

(I think I can sort of guess on the latter, but a little confused by the former)
Cybernetic implants - brain/body implants which improve or enhance a humans natural capabilities. These could include memory chips(scientists are already working on a chip that could enhance or even replace the human hippocampus), processing units to improve intelligence and thinking power, even down to stuff like body modifications such as more powerful limbs, or full body replacements.
The anime Ghost in the Shell IMO gives probably the most accurate representation of where humanity will end up in the next 100 years in terms of our use of and ultimately integration with technology. Its likely to be our next evolutionary step.
