apologies if this has been discussed already, but this advert (in which a 'father' reads a bedtime story to his 'daughter' explaining how driving a car and leaving a light bulb on is going to kill her and her puppy dog in a few years time) is REALLY winding me up.

It's bad enough that they can get away with propaganda based on unproven pseudo-science, but to suggest that it will all be ok if we stop using cars and turn the heating off is simply stupid.

Listen you morons, my car is not killing the planet, and neither is my central heating

If you want to find the culprits, how about you start with the huge companies that pump millions of tons of pollutants into the atmosphere/waterways; or the people cutting down swathes of rainforest to graze cattle; or Japanese whalers killing animals for 'research; or the zinc miners destroying the landscape in order to make batteries for bloody prius cars...

Yes, this is already being discussed.

Send your complaint to the ASA though, make your voice heard.

I might get some stickers made up and slap a new one on the side of the Jag every time another small girl/puppy dog bites the dust thanks to my 16mpg... wink
