Boot release query

I am having problems with the boot on my wife's RR, the boot closes but not fully and only fully closes with a good slam !

Whilst it is an inconvenience the bigger problem is that the light in the boot remains on (even though the boot has locked) and I think was the cause of a flat battery when getting off the car ferry from France !

Any ideas ?

The inside boot release works absolutely fine and the tailgate shuts/opens fine just the boot (rear windscreen portion) is failing......any thoughts ? ?

Try screwing the rubber stops in a tad each side on the pillars.
