e30 320i insurance for a young lad?
Discussion
hello you lot, one of my buddies has managed to get himself a very very nice 320i e30 at a very very cheap price, but has hit a hurdle. Before he bought the car, he was doing insurance quotes with bell insurance on their online quoteamijig. As this would be a weekend car for him but a day to day car for his dad, he has been doing quotes as a named driver, obviously being the lesser user of the two. Bell was quoting around 800 pounds, but all of a sudden he got a message of
"we need more information on one of the drivers on this policy, please call blah blah blah"
realising that the online insurance form might have made a balls up, is it safe to assume that the quotes being thrown out were not genuine? If this is the case, where would the best insurance quotes come from at 18 with 1 year no claims? as the policy holder or a named driver? endsleigh with confused are quoting 2500!! Any thanks would be appreciated!

Might be able to get a classic car policy whuch will likely be cheaper, but then I think insurance companies prefer older drivers for that. My advice is to use comparison sites and haggle, or go directly (for me this gives better esults, time well worth spending) I know that before the age of 21 I did not bother with BMW due to insurance being way too much.
