M600 engine gone bang?
Discussion
I'm sure it wont take long to fix the engine , but the styling might take a little longer !
it's obviously a personal thing , but I dont think the colour they chose helps it either ! ..I'm so disappointed after such a long wait !
..... lets see what the trunob looks like next !

Potentially something very minor causing a breakdown and not necessarily complete engine failure. Unless someone can accurately confirm otherwise?
Engine completed durability test successfully (ran at 750bhp for that) and Noble wouldnt release and engine if it was over-stressed or at risk.

One can only imagine why it went bang.
Personally I'd rather wait until I know all the facts.

I'm not sure about the colour either, but perhaps it's in vogue now - certainly looks better in the sunshine.

Yes I expect that Noble would rather an engine went bang during testing rather than when it was in the hands of a customer - Lee Noble found out to his cost why that was a bad idea.GTO400 said:
Justin,
You almost sound pleased !
yeah that's kinda how it reads. You almost sound pleased !
Still, they have a fair few to go before catching up with the number of lunched engines from Lee's handywork!
More interesting for me was the fact that it laps slower than a Scud despite all the power. Just goes to show power isn't everything. I found myself liking it more after the autocar article though and I hope they can make a go of it. Shame its not sub 100k.

The only interesting thing is that the engine was cited as being bulletproof by the MD and yet it goes bang big time.
It would appear that this isn't a finished car and yet they are selling them at 200k not 90. At 200 you'd expect the hype and statements by the MD to be respectable and trueful.
If it had been tested so much how come the first 'production' (although we now know this doesn't gave the carbon body) car goes bang 4 weeks after it's released at it's home test track?
Something isn't therefore true about all the hype about this 'bulletproof' engine.

Whilst this might make for an interesting thread it would appear none of us are in possesion of the facts ,ie had they raised the boost leaned of the fueling ect,did it just have an inherant fault like any other vehicle which has happened many times over .This is nothing new to any manufacturer large or small.Bloody hell Justin, when people were like this about Lee's effort you were the first to flame them! Poor show!!! Referee!!!!
Lest we forget, every M400 shipped with an engine which had a limited life expectancy with the fuel pump+wiring issues. Never mind that they never made the quoted power either.

Yes ..I saw that article where it was described as a "ferrari Gallardo" ! ...it also , like my car , would look better being driven by a Penny Lancaster !

Although I agree that no one is in possession of all the facts yet, that is pretty embarrassing for your 'first' car to go bang already despite many people saying how much testing and development the car had already been through.
As I said in various other threads on here, there is no experience of pushing this engine to those levels of power and this is not something you should have in a £200k car. If it was £60/70k then it would be slightly different but in that league you need to be sure the technology your using is reliable for what you are using it for and the engine needs some heritage and proven abilities.
I presume it was for TG as there is not many other TV shows about cars around these days now and they are filming for the new series at the moment
