How long to wait for ebay payment

Sold an item on ebay on Sunday and haven't heard anything from the buyer.
Would have expected instant payment, or at least some attempt at contact straightaway. The bidder sniped it, so they would have known they've won it..

How long to wait before doing a Second Chance Offer? It's quite a high value item and I'm keen to get it gone.

Til you get angry and can't wait any longer. I've sold lots on ebay and a lot of people buy with no intention of ever paying. Some pay a couple of weeks after buying, but its far more common if they don't pay for it straightaway that they never ever pay.

7 days I reckon would be an acceptable time frame, I sometimes bid on stuff from my Iphone but am reluctant to pay on it, it can take a day or 2 until I am in front of my PC again...

I'd expect payment or at least some contact to keep me informed within 48 hours personally...

I go by this too. If no contact in 48 hours I give them another 48 hours notice to pay. I have had a few people who have bidded and one of them had a problem with thier paypal but keeped me informed by email. The other didn't have paypal and lost thier cheque book. If I don't hear from them in 4-5 days then I forget them.

A guy bought an iphone off me a year or so back. I'd not received payment after a couple of days, so contacted him. It turned out that the price of the item, would take him over paypal's annual limit, and he needed to register more cards etc for the upgraded account. He suggested a cheque, which I was happy to take, or as he wasn't very far away, I offered to meet him, and he could pay me cash.
Two days later, he paid via paypal. They stung me for about £20 IIRC ?
Wait for a week, then initiate contact/non paying procedure.

Do you have any other items running at the moment? Sometimes they wait and bid on others and hope that you can pack them all together.

Never let you know what they are doing, but I found that a lot.

You can't start an unpaid item stirke or offer to the second chance person until after 7 days, as Ebay say that they have 7 days to pay in. If they don't pay, and you start an inpaid strike, then you get the fees back once the strike is dealt with.
