This is a brilliant show, proper British ingenuity, bonkers inventors, stupid chances, fag-packet engineering.

Awesome.

I've got a huge amount of respect for these guys...

So he crashed into a tree and then did a runner....

I wasn't that impressed with there effort to be honest but hats off to them for giving it a go.

I met Neil Laughton a few years ago when he was running an office fit out company in Fulham. Nice guy.

What happened in the end? I saw the crossing from Spain to Africa but no further.

Even if it didn't fly I'd love one of those! Looks brilliant.

Young lad crashed into a tree while trying to take off, then fked off back to blighty leaving the other 20 guys, trucks and motorbikes to drive the rest of the way.

It looks like too much hassle for the average consumer to use. Also - where did they store the wing when driving? I guess it's kind of an achievement, but I wasn't amazed.

I agree.

I think they stored the wing in one of the big trucks that was following them.

Pretty much every flight seemed to be marred by some problem and there was such little room for error in the intricacies of the wing. Earlier on in the show one of the engineers told him he manufactured it terribly and Gilo asked for the cameras to be cut. Then later on they had that engine problem which is what the engineer was probably talking about.

It was flown across the gibraltar strait and a few more times on their way but it couldn't handle turbulence (from a blustery day at the beach and a hot day in the desert with thermals), or 2 people being on board which is what caused most of their problems.

Loved the bit whe the ex sas guy was about to fling himself from the car, then turned downwind and managed to land it.

Hate to think of their costs incurred with the support team etc, but hey its people like this that push the boundaries and enable us to reap the rewards years on so good on them.

Awesome stuff but absolutely not suprised that the CAA banned them from flying it in Europe and the UK.

If I had the money I'd buy one, and I'd have a sneaky flight or two here in the UK!

Looked awfully dodgy to me. Keeping the parawing stable seemed terribly difficult.

watched it land in africa, think there was something about the pilot head butting the windshield, blowing a couple of tyres and cracking something in the structure that was needed to make it go

given the near misses of the numerious attempts, can see why the CAA banned it from the UK
