I wonder if they'd ever be brave enough to release the names of Labour Party members.

It's definitely either an old list or part fake. One guy on there had a note saying 'not renewing membership in 07', so something isn't quite right. Maybe it is a true list but they leave old members on to make the membership look bigger! Much that I don't like the bnp, this whole thing looks like a smear from the major parties, to scare people who might consider joining that party. It doesn't feel very democratic. But then again, neither is the bnp. Have checked, but there's no one I know on the list.

Real or not this is a truly disgusting act by whoever has published that list. Personal details etc is way out of order irrespective of a person's beliefs.

Shameful truly shameful.

To the people who insist on deploring the BNP at every oppertunity, this blog sums it up perfectly (IMHO)
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/...

"I'm glad that the BNP's Nick Griffin is appearing on Question Time"

"Well I’m sorry, but I am. I’m glad for various reasons, some of which have to do with freedom of speech and the democratic right of political parties which have won seats in local councils and in Europe to be represented on Britain’s main political debating programme.

Mainly, though, I’m glad because of the discomfiture it has caused among the chattering-idiot classes. Though personally I despise the BNP – as I do all parties of the left – the people I despise only marginally less are the ones who go round boasting about how incredibly outraged they are about how disgusting and wrong it is that Nick Griffin is appearing on Question Time.

“I don’t think you have ANY idea about how incredibly, amazingly un-racist I am,” runs the subtext of their boasting. “I am SO unracist that if I’d been around 250 years ago, do you know who I would have been? William Wilberforce, that’s who. Except if I’d been William Wilberforce I wouldn’t have stopped with banning slavery, no sirree. I would have made anti-race-hatred of any description so completely compulsory that there wouldn’t be a single piece of race hatred anywhere left in the world by now. We’d all be like ebony and ivory, living together in perfect harmony, side by side on the keyboard, just like on Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney on a piano. Only more harmonious than that even. Races and creeds wouldn’t exist any more. We’d all have skins made up of whatever colour you get when black and brown and white and yellow are all mixed together. A sort of beigey ecru, maybe. Cos that’s how anti-racist I am!”

It’s not just the nauseating smugness and self-righteousness of all these daringly outspoken Nick-Griffin-/BNP-haters that annoys me. Its the sheer fatuousness. In fact I can safely say that the moment I hear a person tell me how much they hate the BNP and/or how cross they are that Nick Griffin is appearing on Question Time, I know with absolute certainty that I can safely discount any political opinion they have on any other subject whatsoever. (Especially on Anthropogenic Global Warming, which they’re bound to believe is the second most serious threat to the world after racism, and sometimes even more serious than that!!!!)

Indeed, their sheer fatuousness is not merely annoying but actively dangerous – as Fraser Nelson points out on one of his ever-insightful blogs over at Spectator Coffee House. What this general, knee-jerk “oooh it’s the BNP! They’re racist! Pass the smelling salts!” response does is to lend further legitimacy to all the main parties’ ongoing refusal to address the real reasons why the BNP wins so many votes.

As Fraser says:

Some of their views (anti-EU, anti-mass immigration) are that of the mainstream in Britain but find no Westminster representation. Their racist views have no traction in a Britain which is perhaps the most tolerant country on earth. But on the stump, they campaign on other issues – including Westminster sleaze. To denounce them as a racist party ignores not only their multifaceted campaign style, but the concerns of the million-odd voters who backed them.

Exactly. So do remember that all you BNP-haters, next time you dare to venture – with the courage and deep insight which are your wont – how jolly disgusting you think Nick Griffin is. There’s no better recruiting sergeant for his cause than a dumb white liberal."

Too right!

hardly a disgusting act, its disgusting being a nazi...all the problems we face are because of the current government, its hardly a reason to become a damn nazi and being one isnt going to solve anything....
This list has been leaked at a time when it could cause the most damage to an unpalatable yet legal political party, who at the last election (European) made significant gains at the expense of the labour party. Given the nature of the leak, the timing, the comments being made by senior members of the labour party and the labour party’s proven history of dirty tricks and smear campaigns, only a complete and utter dribbling idiot would see this as anything but an attack on democracy.

As disgusted as you may be by the reported behaviour of some members, surely you would concede that the publication of personal details of its membership could be seen as inciting and eliciting such actions as you have already advocated.

The Nazi party followed almost identical tactics in its dealings with their opposition and perceived detractors in the 1930’s, would you advocate everybody on that list being forced to wear a yellow star as well as the harrasement that you've already claimed to be pursuing?

As somebody who believes in the power of debate and diplomacy over violence to address the differences in opinion between certain groups, your posts make me truly fearful that people haven’t learnt from the holocaust and that the political parties via the media are still capable of creating hatred and violence towards any group they perceive as a threat...............Congratulations McLovin you have become the thing you seem to despise, a simpering drone Nazi supporter

All this is just a build up to QT on Thursday.

Preparing the ground and public opinion for a battle with Griffin.

The whole everyone vs Griffin reeks of more spin and manipulation than I thought possible.

A democratically elected government and it's toady institutions manipulating the democratic process, no matter how unpalatable is totally unacceptable.

The principles being bent here are far more important than the petty and odious BNP views.

I can genuinely say that after enduring the current Govt for the last 12 years, I am far more likely to vote for Griffin's lot than Brown's.

If it were just the two of em in it, I suspect BNP's share of the vote would be worryingly high...

I did read that when membership IDs reached 33k, they added an extra 100000 to the ID number, so new members would have an ID from 130,000 onwards

I don't support man "is a fault for global warming", I'm not a white liberal by any means but I do hate the BNP. Having seen their street troops at work in my home town. Which also happens to be where Colin Jordan, remember him, was a teacher. So do I have your permission to regard them as a bunch of thugs very little different from the far left mobs also available. To believe that Westminster sleaze is the first thing on mind of the average BNP voter is a something of a misnomer.

Very few people would disagree with you; their views on race and sexuality are extreme to say the least (although almost comically, their views on homosexuality mirror those of the Islamic nut jobs they purport to hate)

The crux of this thread isn’t the politics of the party, but do the people who are its members deserve to have their political beliefs and personal details aired without their consent and then subsequently be targets for the excitable, hypocritical, ill-informed idiots on this planet like McLovin?
