How often to change the spark plugs + consumables

6 months post service and the car not running as well as it did when I picked it up. The same thing happened last year. Rather than have a 6 month service, should things like the plugs and air filter etc be changed more frequently?

no, it'll be your throttle bodies out of sync.

I dont think this is done in a 6k service?

In any case, due to wear on the butterfly spindles they can cause running issues farily soon after a tune up.

The cars tend to go out of tune after about 3000 miles. Lap top tickle mid service will cure it normally.

Thank guys. Will the throttle body syncs be cured with a lap top tickle? When you note mid service are we talking filters plugs and oil only?

At EVERY service the thottles should be balanced. They do, however, go off fairy quickly, and as TVR Owner says a twiddle on the lap top and a balancing session should see things back to normal. My thottles get set every 3000 miles or so. My car also uses temperature sensors as if they are going out of fashion. The lap top will bring up any faults like this.

the laptop will not sync the bodies no. They need to be done with a synchrometer and removal of the airbox.

Not a hard job but does take a couple of hours to get right. The laptop shows the ECU values which need to be setup to a certain spec and altered by adjusting the TB screws.
