Is the 1.8 8v (digifant, PB) engine non-interference?
Discussion
As per the thread title I've just read elsewhere in the forum that the 1.8 8v digifant engine is non-interference.
Can anybody confirm this for me? Only I was going to get the cambelt done in the next couple of weeks and if it is it means I can put it off until the new year!
The car is a 1991 Golf GTi 8 valver. The engine code is PB.
(Oh and I understand that non-interference is no guarantee of no damage but for what I paid for the car I'll take my chances in the short term!).
Cheers guys.

Yeah it's definately an area of some dispute!
Autodata say it is an interference but historically they're pretty rubbish with this particular issue.
Guess I won't know until I change the belt and turn the crank but by then it'll be pointless.
I'll probably just leave it. I've got the coolant system to rebuild this weekend and I'm getting pretty sick of labouring on it.
