I'm off to this all day Friday.

Never been before, but have taken a look at the british rally forum etc.. and the official site (and the leaflet you get with your tickets). It looks like the spectator areas are actually quite limited vis-a-vis the length of the actual stages! I also sounds like moving from one stage to another is a bit of a nightmare, so out of Friday's stages, which ones are recommended. I have a normal job and will need some sleep, so won't be getting to any of them before 8am, but would still like to have a reasonably clear view and take a couple of photos. My choices are therefore obviously:

SS1/6 Hafren
SS2/5 Sweet Lamb
SS3/4 Myherin

Any pointers welcomed. Also, whether it's actually worth driving from one stage to another on the second run, or just find a different spot on the stage - although the viewing areas seem to quite small?

You may be leaving it a bit late not getting there before 8am. Previously, not last year, I've slept over at Sweet Lamb & in Myherin.

Without seeing a stage map of any of the stages, I would go for Sweet Lamb, mainly due to length of time that you will get to see the cars, normally 45 sec plus each going through the Arena complex.

First car is on in Hafren at approx 0920hrs so you may just get there in time, don't forget you may need extra time to find a good spot to watch.

Sweet lamb first car is 1000hrs and Myherin is 1019hrs.

Id go to Sweet Lamb as you get to see the cars for a long amount of time and theres a jump and water splash

We are going up on friday evening and will be watching at Rhondda on Saturday followed by Service. Sundy we will be at Rehola, followed by a drive up over the black mountains, cant wait

Just finished rebuilding the car (coolant leak!) and praying it starts in about 10 minutes... Otherwise we'll be cramped in my mates 206!

I'm achey, hardly had any sleep already, not prepared at all, and still the most excited I've been all year Can't wait.

Look out for a white E30 BMW 318is, small PH window sticker near tax disc, we're doing 4 days again starting with shakedown tomorrow Come and say hello if you see us!

This one brought back some memories on the Grizedale Stages last year too. Mark Higgins in an ex Carlos Sainz Impreza..same car in the opening shot of the video i linked to.

It looks like S4C have nightly programmes (sky 134) and BBC2W (sky 991) have a programme on Monday night. Doesn't look like anyone has anything live and there's nothing I could see in the schedules on Dave?

Thanks. Having looked at the map in a bit more detail, I think we'll head straight to Myherin in the morning and then take a view on moving to a different spot there, or heading over to Sweet Lamb for the afternoon stage.

Yes Ralio is every night (for those who don't know, you can watch with english subtitles).

I am disappointed there is no live coverage (again).

I went through the sky listings this morning and everything is set to record. Thanks for the heads up on the BBC2w item.

Looking at those maps you would get to see them go through 2 water splashes and be in view for a good minute in Sweet Lamb, coming from the right leaving stage left over the mountain.

Hafren looks a cracker @ 32 kms long!

Getting from Myherin to Sweet Lamb may be tricky depends on which Car Park you use and availability in Sweet Lamb.

I'll be at Rheola for Sunday, arriving late Saturday evening.

Usually we do a couple of days but work means I have to cut short this year. Still looking forward to it.

We drove up from cornwall on the saturday evening last year and parked overnight at the walters arena end of rheola, fantastic part of the stage for spectators, we just bought our tickets when we got there.

This year I might go to the port talbot stages on the sunday morning, but cannot find what time the carpark opens, does anyone know(someone who already has their rally planner??????)

Leaders are way ahead of the game, Loeb 2 secs ahead of Hirvonen then a stretch back some 10-12 secs to Sordo solberg.
