So has anyone seen any particularly good deals on 360s recently? (Spec pretty immaterial as I can always add an HDD later etc)

Long story short, my housemate has an Xbox and I've quite a few games for it but cant take it round to the girlfriends as his kids visit on the days Im normally at hers (what a coincidence biggrin).

So in order to play guitar hero, I need my own biggrin

Secondhand would be fine (so long as it's the jasper chipset with the HDMI cable) but obviously new has priority!

Any ideas? Budget rather limited lol so brand new Elite is out of the question unfortunately.

A couple of good ones since the 60GB is no longer being sold, but you may have missed the boat.

Argos showing a deal for £195 for Elite, with extra controller and 2 games (Pure and Lego Batman)? Costs more, but better value in general?

I'm still thinking that 150 bundle has the edge.

Quantum of solace isnt great and would get turned over for something else fairly rapidly. The extra £50 for the elite isn't (I dont believe) worth it at the moment.

We've got 3 controllers, 2 guitars and a stack of peripherals in the house already so all I need is a console and a Joypad (and probably a media remote as it should function nicely as a media extender to the PCs videos drive).

tempted by elite - i dont need the HD space as theres nothing on the box (all media stuff goes via PS3) but....its black and matches the rest of the tv stuff!

May go for the COD 2 bundle...in camo colors!

Blockbuster, £99.99 for a 20 gig. They had a rummage through the available consoles and found one with the HDMI port for me.

Sorted biggrin

Last Saturday I had the RROD - but as Forza 3 was due in a few days I decided to just buy a new Elite and get the old one fixed and keep as a spare. I got another Elite with 120G hard drive from Game - £199 with Fifa10 and Halo ODST. Didn't really want these games but was offered £25 trade in each for them so effectively the Elite cost £150.

Just a note though... the Elites' used to come with an HDMI lead but the new one don't.

I thought the Elite was less prone to RROD - but I've had two go in 18 months and that's with me only playing about 5 hours a week!

Just registered the serial of the Xbox, turns out its under 12 months old (by a month) so not a bad deal at all biggrin

Judging by the only gamer profile on it, its barely been used...

I'm sure I saw an Elite with Halo ODST and Fifa 10 for £200. In a few places too.
