S**t where can I buy all those ultima bits for only $30K US, seems abit of a steel. I know J built his car so no $90K bill, but I'm shaw it would be more than that ? Still the Viper boys seem to be alittle miffed at being beaten.... Shame......

I wouldn't worry about it, someone who is truely content with their car does not have to slag off others.

I am sure you could invent competitions that came out with all sorts of results, regarding best car etc...

But its like Top Gear when they review a car..thats their opinion and NOT mine, waste of time really.

Your dream car is chosen from the heart not from reviews.

There are a lot of them, no question. The Viper more than any car epitomizes the "American Musclecar", so rednecks tend to *love* Vipers...of course that doesn't make all Viper owners rednecks.

People are always going to call someone a liar who has a faster, better handling, better looking car, HE BUILT HIMSELF.

If thats not jealously, what is?

Gosh. I feel such a dope for having spent $90k on Ultima parts. Where did I go wrong...?

By the sounds of it the whole competition was a load of baloney. Pop Idol for cars only with less artistic integrity (if that were possible).

While some of the Viper posters were a little of the wall...you don't have to look too hard round UK forums to find similarly thick bods. The worlds full of numpties...

hi guys
the magazine had an odd way of assesing the cost-it was the base price that was used.
when I bought my parts from Ted I did not buy everything. I deleated the wheels, fuel tanks, brakes, rad, seats, gauges, engine, aircon and electrics. I made all this stuff. they did not include engine mods in the cost either. yes my car was more money than
the cost used by the magazine. The same could be said for the other 9 cars. I spent about 6000 hours to build my GTR, however time was not factored in. If it was I have about $250,000 into my car. nuts isn't it?

Is the magazine out yet in USA?

Awesome job Jay! I just picked up the Feb. issue last week and you've set the bar high! Love the interior and custom airbox. I'm going to order that DVD as well!
Cheers!

Hey mack, does the Feb. issue of USCC show all the cars and winners?

In regards to your Website, did you take it down?

The Feb. issue doesn't show the winners or results. Just gives you a preview of the contestants. I really want to get that DVD video they have advertised on their site. Jay was really smokin' his tires in one picture I saw. Would love to hear his motor roar while he was doing that!
How'd ya know about my ol' website? I took it down a long time ago b/c its an older MKIV Sports and not a newer GTR or CanAm. Got a little scolding from Ted with all the bodywork photos I'd put on the site. Evidently a few GTR prospects thought they had to do all that work on their GTR's. Didn't think many people visited the site anyway. Maybe I'll put it up again. I have a backup of the site on my computer. What's sort of interesting D3vine is that there have been over 400 sales of Ultimas(many of them Sports and Spyders) and you only see less than 10% of the owners post on this site. Very few sports and spyder owners. Not sure if their not techno savvy or if they just don't care to talk about the cars.
Cheers!

Don't see why they shouldn't join in, it was the sport that first grabbed my interest and I still like its styling.

I agree! I still love my Sports. Something about the wing sitting behind the car on that pylon that makes my heart race! Wish there were more of us posting on the site. Same chassis for the most part.
Cheers!

Thanks for directing me to the post- some of the best entertainment I've had in ages. I especially liked the buying cars from Japan is like buying them from the Nazi's.. only for someone to point out that it is actually a DaimlerChrysler Viper!
