GT5P (PS3) not picking up game save?

Just a quick question, after pretty much completing GT5P, I deleted it from my system. I decided on re-installing it, and downloading a gamesave that I found online. I've copied it from the flash drive on to the PS3, and it shows it in my game save data folder.

For some reason, when I load up GT5P, it doesn't find it. I'm stuck at the beginning. Does anyone know what the problem may be, or how to find the save data from the game?

Any help would be appreciated, as would a game save, if you think that the game save I used isn't the correct one (despite showing as copied in the folder).

Have you updated to the latest patch and have you downloaded an update that is matched with your version (same update level)

You need to have a save that is matched to your version of the game, it will not work if you have updated the game on the ps3 but then try and install a save from an earlier version.

i.e game on 2.1 patch must have save from 2.1 patch to work
game on 1.0 patch and save file from 2.1 will not work
game on 2.1 patch and save file from 1.o will not work

Another question, how do I know what version I'm using, so I know what to search for?

When you load up gt5p and get to the main screen have a look in the top left corner and it will say:

Gran Tourismo 5 prolouge SPEC3 or specIII if you are on the latest version

You will then need a save file from this version. (search for a spec 3 file)

Update your game to the latest version and then try a saved file.

If you can't get it to work email me through PH and I will send you a save file.
