Lights ordered!

Well after lots of reading and decision making, I have finally ordered some lights for my bike tonight.

Mostly going to be used for night riding on unlit roads so wanted something decently bright, also needed rear lights as well.

Decided in the end to go for an SSC P7 LED torch from DealExtreme (details here http://www.mtbbritain.co.uk/mountain_bike_lights_r... - got the torch, 4 batteries, charger, handlebar mount and uk plug adaptor for £38 delivered - result!

For the rear, going on this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... I decided to go for both rear lights mentioned as someone advised me to ride with at least 2 so that's the Smart 1/2 watt rear led for £8.99, and the Chain Reaction Cycles one for £3 delivered.

All in, I have got some (hopefully) decent front/rear lights for £50 all-in.

I have ordered one with all the bits as well - it took them a couple of days longer than the website indicated to get them from the supplier, but just received a mail to say that the order has just been shipped, so hopefully will have them by next week!

That's exactly the same setup as I've got 71notout - be aware that the DX Torch may take some time to get to you though. I ordered mine on 25th September and the stuff has only just left HK today.

The Smart rear light is seriously bright though

Well the cheap £3 rear light arrived 4 days later, the £8 one is waiting in the P.O. for me to pick it up.

Got an email today from Deal Extreme saying my order has been dispatched - result, only 7 days since ordering...only for it to probably sit for days due to the UK Postal strikes d'oh.

Back in the office from Monday so I will be able to commute by bike again...once they arrive.

Mine came Friday - all I can say is wow! Wouldn't have dreamt of attempting the rocky tracks up the nearby white peak after dark until yesterday!

Extremely bright!

Note: worth a look round the Dealextreme site - there's a fancier version for an extra dollar that has several brightness settings and can even flash SOS!

Ordered a P7 off Fleabay on Sunday, though it cost about the same as the OP at £39, but doesnt come with charger.. Ive got loads of AAA rechargeables and cant be arsed to wait the few weeks to get it cheaper!
Got a smart polaris 3 led for £9.99 (though looks smaller than the ones linked from here).

Ill seehow I get on with these before buying helmet lights etc.
