Tried searching but nothing came up, so here goes.
I'm going on a stag trip to Madrid in early Feb. so looking for bar/club recommendations really. I usually don't condone pissed stag antics on foreign locales but in my defence it is too cheap to miss out on. I think there will be 15 people in total so would prefer places that we won't have much trouble getting into. I very much doubt the stag will be dressed in anything ridiculous, but you never know.
Also, it seems I am getting there 8hrs before everyone else, so would appreciate a cultural suggestion or 2 and somwhere for a tapas feast before the other guys arrive for the alcohol onslaught.
Cheers.

I'd have thought that in a sophisticated place like Madrid, tolerance of pissed-up Brits on a stag do will be close to zero. Spaniards don't do drunk and Madrid is not Torremolinos. For the cultural bit - go to the Prado. I'm going on a stag trip to Madrid in early Feb. so looking for bar/club recommendations really. because i'm perfectly capable of getting drunk and finding myself nowhere near an irish pub, a knocking shop, a police cell, etc. i have voiced a strong opinion on here more than once about stag do's to prague, riga etc.
this will be my 3rd stag with the same group of guys and the previous 2 were civilised affairs so i don't see this one being any different.

Fine. So why mention "pissed stag antics" if that's not what you're going to do?this will be my 3rd stag with the same group of guys and the previous 2 were civilised affairs so i don't see this one being any different.

why be an arse if you don't have anything to add?
Well I've advised you that "pissed stag antics" will not go down too well in Madrid and that you should visit the Prado. In return you've taken my advice as a personal affront as if I were the one accusing you of wanting to partake in "pissed stag antics" when in fact you'd never mentioned anything of the sort, and have forgotten to say thank you. That's being an arse.

There's a massive difference between being pissed and having a laugh with your mates and doing things that end up warranting attention from the Policia. All I was trying to convey was that I want reccomendations for places where a large group won't be turned away, not 'go here for prossies, there's a great sports bar in suchaplace' etc. that seem to be attached to most stag threads.
To be fair to you though I prob. did take an affront which is quite unlike me, so apologies for that.

La Latina has lots of good bars and places to eat. Velazquez is nice but expensive. Expect to pay a lot more anywhere around sol or opera but head down a few of the back streets there and it's a lot better and no tourist prices. Theres some good places around Gran Via, Callao and Chueca but Gran Via's the main red light area so it's better the further you get from there, (If you're stood outside MacDonalds you're on the wrong side of the main road).
Give me a shout if you need anymore info, I lived there for a while and it's a really nice place, a million miles away from English town centres on a Friday/Saturday night.
